If you are very rich then a recession can be a way to really increase the value of your assets.
This is because rich people have the cash to buy properties and businesses at really cheaps rates because of the recession.
Of course this is profiting at the expense of other people, but few people in these modern days will be too bothered about that!
Not being too strapped for cash, rich people can go on a spending spree when times are hard for other people and make a fortune when they sell the businesses and properties on after a few years when the markets global values have gone back up again!
